Jorge Santalucía was born in San Juan on September 29th , 1953. He graduated as an Electronic Electric Engineer from the National University of Córdoba in 1980. He obtained the degree of Specialist in Universitary Teaching at the National University of San Juan in 2001.
He began working at the Earthquake Research Institute in 1980 carrying out teaching, research and transfer activities for private companies and public institutions. From May 2003 to September 2019, he performed as Deputy Director of IDIA and is currently member of its Advisory Council.
He is Professor of Digital Electronics I and Digital Electronics II chairs in the Faculty of Engineering, and of Instrumentation and Testing of Structures chair in the Doctorate Program of the Civil Engineering career. His teaching activities include: students advisor as well as direction and co-direction of postgraduate theses.
His background is mainly related to the development, creation, operation and maintenance of instruments applicable to dynamics of structures. In the field of university management, from 2008 to 2012, he was member of the Board of Directors of the Faculty of Engineering of the UNSJ.
